{"id":39,"date":"2011-12-14T02:43:50","date_gmt":"2011-12-14T02:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kandynolesstevens.wordpress.com\/?p=39"},"modified":"2011-12-14T02:43:50","modified_gmt":"2011-12-14T02:43:50","slug":"2011-christmas-newsletter-part-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/?p=39","title":{"rendered":"2011 Christmas Newsletter, Part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kandynolesstevens.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/12\/dsc_01431.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-40\" title=\"DSC_0143\" src=\"http:\/\/kandynolesstevens.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/12\/dsc_01431.jpg?w=199\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/dsc_01431.jpg 2848w, http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/dsc_01431-199x300.jpg 199w, http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/dsc_01431-680x1024.jpg 680w, http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/dsc_01431-624x939.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 199px) 100vw, 199px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Erin is now 12 years old and in the 7th grade.\u00a0 She has shot up this year in height and most who haven&#8217;t seen her in awhile can hardly believe their eyes.\u00a0 She went from a size 6 shoe to a size 9 in a school year.\u00a0 Erin is involved in Student Council, FCA, Youth Group, FFA, Jazz Band, Southwest Swim Club, Scouts, 4-H, softball, and of course, basketball.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One of the highlights of Erin&#8217;s year was to participate in an AAU team that competed in the Twin Cities for about 8 weeks this past spring.\u00a0 She loved every minute of it, and basically, basketball could be her middle name.\u00a0 The second highlight of the year for her was learning to quilt.\u00a0 She has been taking classes, and has really done a nice job, including making some of her Christmas presents.\u00a0 She is an often sought after babysitter, who adores the children that she watches, particularly three neighborhood boys.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kandynolesstevens.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/12\/dsc_0081.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-41\" title=\"DSC_0081\" src=\"http:\/\/kandynolesstevens.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/12\/dsc_0081.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/dsc_0081.jpg 4288w, http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/dsc_0081-300x199.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/dsc_0081-1024x680.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/dsc_0081-624x414.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cloie, affectionately known around here as\u00a0our one and only Sally Gal,\u00a0will be 7 years old tomorrow.\u00a0 We can hardly believe that can be true.\u00a0 We remember that cold day she came into the world like it was yesterday.\u00a0 She recently told one of Huck&#8217;s nursing home friends when she asked her about what it was like to get a puppy long ago, &#8220;I have no idea. I was born into his family.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cloie is involved in 4-H, Girl Scouts and Southwest Swim Club.\u00a0 Her biggest accomplishment was doing very well in her two events at the Beat the Blizzard swim meet.\u00a0 Her face upon learning she won her heat was priceless!\u00a0 She loves to play with her friends; anything to do with rocks, Barbies, or art; and school.\u00a0 Cloie loves to read!\u00a0 There are so many times that she takes our breath away, because she does so many things just like Reed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The family vacation was the Nowatzki Family Reunion in Devils Lake, ND followed by a week in Leeds to celebrate the Leeds 125th anniversary.\u00a0 It was a fun seeing so many family and friends all in one place.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Our second biggest event each year is the Lyon County Fair.\u00a0 The kids all did fabulous in their projects: quilting, photography, aerospace, and our family favorite: pigeons.\u00a0 We are exhausted at the end of each day, but the best part of August are the days spent at the fairgrounds getting the pigeons ready.\u00a0 The kids work so hard on their projects throughout the year, and they enjoy earning their ribbons.\u00a0 Some of the best memories of this year&#8217;s fair were Sawyer earning Reserved Champion in Showmanship, Cloie earning Grand Champion (3rd year in a row) in Open Class Junior Photography, and Erin earning a blue ribbon for a quilt she made all by herself.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kandynolesstevens.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/12\/dsc_0017-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-45\" title=\"DSC_0017-1\" src=\"http:\/\/kandynolesstevens.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/12\/dsc_0017-1.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"418\" height=\"270\" \/><\/a>Even though, they are typical preteens and teenagers, a moment at the poultry show will forever be etched in my heart.\u00a0 Sawyer, Erin, and Cloie are the only ones currently showing pigeons.\u00a0 As they went through each class, Sawyer earned Grand champion and Erin earned Reserved.\u00a0 When it came to the last class, Sawyer once again took top honors, but before he did, he turned around and said, &#8220;I&#8217;m so sorry, Erin.\u00a0 I wanted you to win this one.&#8221;\u00a0 Hot and sticky on an August day, I had to work hard to hold the tears back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We continue to look for God&#8217;s blessings in the smallest of pieces of our daily lives.\u00a0 We can find His goodness in the time spent with friends, in the blessed bounty from our gardens, in the chance encounter with a stranger, and in any place we purposely seek Him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We pray that you and your family are doing the same!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Erin is now 12 years old and in the 7th grade.\u00a0 She has shot up this year in height and most who haven&#8217;t seen her in awhile can hardly believe their eyes.\u00a0 She went from a size 6 shoe to a size 9 in a school year.\u00a0 Erin is involved in Student Council, FCA, Youth [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[2],"tags":[105,444],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/39"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=39"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/39\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=39"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=39"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.realsweetgrace.com\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=39"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
