Love you!<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>It was a simple acknowledgement of how fun this day was to our favorite little redhead, but more so, the remembrance that someone recognized we would miss him, just a little more today.\u00a0 Written in the text was a whole lot of love from a friend who always brings me <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">joy<\/span><\/i><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Once up, I spent a little bit of time searching for the perfect Star Wars video on Youtube.\u00a0 I wanted one\u00a0that would make my proclamation of love for my Jedi, who actually had the e-mail address jedione@????.??? once upon a time.\u00a0 Settling on the link below, I posted a quick tribute and was off to spend the rest of the morning with my family.<\/p>\n<p>All was well, until I stepped outside in bare feet to deliver items to the recycling bin.\u00a0 Ouch!\u00a0\u00a0That is cold!\u00a0 (Later in the day, I actually noticed a few snowflakes mixed in with the drizzle that persisted throughout the day.)\u00a0 If ever a light saber would come in handy, today was it.\u00a0Of course, it\u00a0\u00a0could have functioned as a blue therapy light as well.\u00a0 <i>I might actually have to look into that<\/i>.\u00a0 Additionally, I would want it to make the great sounds effects as well \u2013 which would doubly serve to lift my sad spirits.<\/p>\n<p>After reading the thermometer (a not so balmy 38 F)\u00a0by my kitchen window, I got the chuckles.\u00a0You know those that I seem to have a proclivity for, the kind that bubble up from a deeply hidden well-spring that just erupt forth spewing uncontrollable laughter.<\/p>\n<p>The source of my\u00a0giggles was from a cold April day in Alabama many, many years ago.\u00a0 I was living with my grandparents during graduate school at Auburn University.\u00a0 My Papa (<i>pronounced pawpaw<\/i>) and I were going on one adventure of sorts.\u00a0 Upon stepping outside that day, we noticed our breath in the air, which was not typical in late April in Opelika.\u00a0 We (well okay I) went back in to get a warmer jacket.\u00a0 Papa Reed was dressed appropriately \u2013 because he was astute follower of the best weather forecaster around: The Farmer\u2019s Almanac. \u00a0Anyways, once I finally joined him, he dropped some good ol\u2019 fashioned country knowledge on his\u00a0young, but\u00a0educated granddaughter.\u00a0 \u201cGal, it\u2019s cold as a blue lizard out here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I still remember looking at him and bursting into laughter.\u00a0 If that saying didn\u2019t describe the situation to a tee, I don\u2019t know what one would.\u00a0 He relished my giggles and we continued on, him with a twinkle in his eye and me with a giggle at the ready.<\/p>\n<p>Standing at the kitchen counter today, I could almost picture my two Reeds in heaven, each with those sparkling blue eyes.<\/p>\n<p>One saying:\u00a0 \u201cMomma, May the 4<sup>th<\/sup> be with you!\u201d and the other saying, \u201cYep, Gal, still cold as a blue lizard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Today, I am grateful that God gave me the opportunity to love both of them.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"625\" height=\"469\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/O61Do03ZCjw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I received one of the sweetest text messages ever today, while still snuggled in my quilts and pjs.\u00a0 The message was simple: May the 4th be with you!\u00a0 Thinking of you and Reed today.
